Inca Engineering
Fountains
The fountains could be long or short because the water still wouldn't clog.
A lot of those fountains are still there right now.
They carved the paths into channeled blocks.
They made like pathways for the water.
Walls
The walls were made from field stones.
They used blocks of stone to make the walls.
Their walls had colorful art.
The walls were very firm.
Some stones weren't aligned and made into a square or rectangle perfectly.
Aztec Engineering
Chinampas
It was a small land that was on water.
It grew plants faster than on land.
It was like a "plantation" on a boat.
You could grow about 5-7 crops on one chinampas.
That was the Aztec's way of farming.
Temples
This was were the aztec priests would worship.
Sacrifices would happen here.
They were usually in the middle of cities.
They were also to house people.
They would be able to stand through an earthquake.
Inca Culture
Art
They used some unusual things to make art.
Their art is very like colorful and full of shapes.
They were very skilled at art.
Their art was destroyed by the Europeans.
Food
They farmed a lot.
They farmed corn, cocoa, and bean.
Livestock was mostly herds of llamas and alpacas.
They ate guinea pigs for daily protein.
Religion
They believed in many gods.
They believed the god Viracocha made the whole Earth.
Some religions used llamas.
They worshiped the sun and the moon.
Machu Pichu
It was easy for them to escape since they were near water.
They had many many temples.
Machu Pichu was hard to be cut down.
They had some fountains that you could turn off and on manually.
It was on the andes mountains.

He was an explorer that took the incan empire over.
He was from Spain.
Conquered
But what he didn't know was that he was still going to die either way.
Pizzaro used Atahualpa to rule the rest of the people.
Pizzaro still got the room full of silver and gold.
Atahualpa tried talking Pizzaro out of killing him so he promised a room full of gold and silver.
Atahualapa
Pizzaro took Atahualpa and used him to rule the rest of the incas.
He was burned by the Spanish.
He was the emperor.

Hernan Cortes
He was from spain.
Hernan Cortes was looking for treasure!
Montezuma
He welcomed Hernan Cortes because he thought he was an ancient god.
He died after Hernan Cortes kidnapped.
He was the emperor of the Aztecs.
Conquered
Small pox where one reason of how the Aztec got conquered.
The Aztec thought Herman Cortes was a god so they welcomed him and everything.
The Spanish had things the Aztec never saw before like horses and other things.
The Spanish had better technology.
Aztec Culture
Foods
Beans were like a diet for the Aztec.
They also ate... CHOCOLATE, even though there was no sugar.
They ate a variety of things but corn was one of the mains.
Games
Could this be where soccer came from?? I'm inferring that is where it came from since they played it with a ball and they used their hips.
Either the winners or losers would be sacrificed.
There were different versions of this game.
They played a game everyone now calls it "Aztec Rubber Ball Game"
Family Life
The moms would also cook, knit and just do housework.
The children would be punished if they got in trouble. Those were really bad punishments too.
The mothers would stay at home and take care of the children.
The men, fish, hunt, and they farm
Men would usually go out and work to earn money for the family.
Tenochtitlan
Connected to the mainland by causeways (also known as bridges.) Since they were on a lake.
In 1500, it was one of the largest cities in the world.
It had a lot of beautiful buildings such as in, Pyramids, ball courts, and houses.
It was easy for them to defend against enemies who tried to conquer them.
It was built on a lake.
