Museum and Shop Relocation Renovation Project Application - Outcomes for People
We believe that people from all communities should be able to see their heritage reflected in our national story.
HFL want us to inspire young people to learn and get involved with heritage.
I think it is essential that we make it a focus of the application that we we have a youth group involved in the Railway but we would like to recruit more youngsters with an emphasis on them getting involved in the heritage, so in Heritage event days, they could lead tours, run activities and the museum. I can pull goals and objectives plan together tom show how we intend to get the youth involved. (MH)
HFL require us to create thousands of opportunities for an enjoyable day out.
As mentioned in the 'Outcome for Heritage' I think we should organise an event/day to celebrate and explore the history of the line. (MH) suggestions welcome
They want us to help people find fulfilling volunteer roles and develop skills.
Mark H can pull together some blurb about volunteer roles and developing skills?
Individuals will have gained skills relevant to ensuring heritage is better looked after.
Individuals gain skills to provide maintenance.
Mark H can you put together some wording around the maintenance of the museum?
Individuals gain skills in digital and project management skills.
Most volunteers are involved in project management of the railway probably without realising it, I will put together some wording outlining to cover this part, but how can we improve digital management? (MH) suggestions welcome
Individuals gain skills in structured training activities could include an informal mentoring programme.
I can put some wording together with regards to informal mentoring (MH)
Individuals gain skills in on-the-job training or external short courses.
Being as most of our volunteers only have a small amount of time to spare I will offer up an explanation about on-the-job training rather than offering external short courses.
People involved in your project, including staff and volunteers, will be able to demonstrate competence in new, specific skills, and where appropriate, will have gained a formal qualification.
I think the only formal qualification we can offer is a customer service course. I will cost this up and add it our application. (MH) suggestions welcome.
Individuals will have developed their knowledge and understanding of heritage because you have given them opportunities to experience heritage in ways that meet their needs and interests.
I will put wording together that explains that all will be able to involved in the project or the on-going running of the shop and museum
Adults, children and young people who took part in the project, or who are visiting your site or engaging with your heritage in other ways.
Through digital technology, will be able to tell you what they have learnt about heritage and what difference this makes to them and their lives
As mentioned in 'Outcomes for Heritage' we will installed a computerised stand that visitors can use before they leave the station and use electronic surveys. (MH) suggestions welcome
(MH) 06.12.17We could use Eventbrite promote the educational to events
They will also be able to tell you what they are doing with that knowledge and understanding; such as, sharing it with other people, using it in their professional or social life, or undertaking further study.
We will have to produce case studies , following some of the volunteers involved in the project . During the events and tours days maybe we could design activities that record the visitors experience and how they use the knowledge in their day lives. (MH) Suggestions welcome
(MH) 06.12.17 - Example of school trips by Wensleyrail

(MH) 06.12.17 - The children that visited with the schools were given vouchers to visit again with their families
Individuals will think differently about heritage or your community, will have changed what they do in their everyday lives, or will have been inspired to take some form of personal action.
Some suggestions would be appreciated (MH)
You will be able to show that these changes have come about as a result of their experience in your project from the stories people tell you themselves
For example, some people may have a different perception of the importance of biodiversity or of the contribution made by young people in the community;
Others may have started doing conservation work or stopped vandalising a local memorial.
They may have joined the management group of your Friends organisation, decided on a career in heritage or got involved in other community projects
I am not sure how to approach this section. (MH) suggestions welcome
People involved in your project will have found it fun, interesting and rewarding. You will provide an enjoyable experience through the welcome you offer, through good customer service, and by having the right resources and equipment for people to get involved with heritage.
I think we should emphasis that interest and enjoyment will be derived by reviving and producing interesting exhibits in the museum. I think we should suggest that we will produce a project plan with all the activities required to be complete project and we will make it accessible for all that want to be involved to get involved (MH) suggestions welcome.
People will tell you they enjoyed the opportunities for social interaction; they liked being part of a team achieving something; they enjoyed learning about heritage; and they were able to celebrate their achievements. Adults, children and young people engaging with your project will tell you that their visit met or exceeded their expectations; that they liked it enough to visit or take part again; or that they encouraged other people to get involved.
