Themes
The Grate Gatsby shows exploring the trials and tribulations of achieving the great American dream during the Jazz Age. Which in other word disillusionment with the American Dream(life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness)
Also , The Grate Gatsby talks about the woman Daisy who lived in the East of this age. She must adhere to certain societal expectations like dutiful wife, mother, keeper of the house, and charming socialite. I was feeling weird why Daisy have to marry people her parents wanted. This novel The Grate Gatsby is also talking about the ideal family and role for female.
Narrative
It starts with Nick Carraway's view in 1922 in West Egg. He was grown in mid-west side of the America and graduate Yale university and joined WW1. He came to New York to learn skills about stocks. He became friend with neighbor Gatsby. He was a rich and having big party every Saturday. Soon Nick starts to despise the luxurious party. So Gatsby tell him reason he open the party everyday. It was to find his love name Daisy Buchanan. Nick have already met Daisy in the party and he introduce her to Gatsby. But Daisy was already married with Tom Buchanan. Gatsby and Tom had little conflict but soon notice Daisy was not interest in Gatsby and let them go home with same car. Meanwhile Tom's friend George Wilson and his wife Myrtle Wilson was having conflict because Myrtle and Tom was in
adultery relationship and George realized that. Myrtle ran out of the house and get accident with the car which Gatsby and Daisy was riding. Tom tell to George that Gatsby killed her and give him the gun. So George kill Gatsby and also killed himself in nearby grass. Nick looked for people to attend a funeral of Gatsby. But just a few people came despite Gatsby's large personal connections. Nick feels depress and despise about this and go back to his home.
