Aztec Conquerd
The Spanish had brought over diseases which killed more Aztecs than the Spanish did.
Since the Spanish had weapons that the Aztecs had never seen they were scared to fight.
Cortes captured the emperor so it was easy to make them surrender as well.
The Aztecs weapons were made of sticks and the Spanish had steel swords and guns
Hernan cortes
Cortes went to the new world to find resources and wealth.
He had no trouble really taking down the Aztec Empire.
He was considered a Spanish conquistador.
Conquered Aztec and claimed it for Spain.
Montezuma
Thought Cortes was an ancient god.
Was captured by Cortes and later murdered.
Welcomed Hernan Cortres into
Tenochtitlan .
He was killed by what some say a rock that someone in a crowd threw at him.
Aztec Culture
Calendar
They also had other sorts of calendars. like the one to count the days of the year which is known as the Xiuhpohualli. Also there was another calendar known as the Tonalpohualli.
The Aztec stone was carved by an artist in the year 1479.
The Aztec calendar is also known as
Cuauhxicalli Eagle Bowl
.
This calendar of some sort gives people an idea of what the Aztec knew about time and space.
They used very detailed work to explain their point of view about their gods and what they have managed to observe of the heavens.
Games
The place where the game was played was to them very important because it was one of the first things they built when they were first settling in.
There was also another favorite which was a board game called Patolli.
One of the Aztecs most famous/popular game was called Ullamaliztil.
The game Patolli was named after the type of beans that were used to play the game.
The Aztec believed that pretty much any game that tested peoples skills or endurance was always a very famous and often used game.
Language
Some examples w words that were similar to the languages English and Spanish were :avocado, chocolate, and guacamole.
People who spoke the language of Nahuatl were dominate among the other Fellow tribe members.
This language Nahuatl was very close/similar to the language we know as Spanish.
The Mexica were on of the last group of people who spoke the language of Nahuatl.
The main language of the Aztec is Nahuatl.
Tenochtitlan
Tenochtitlan was built on an island in Lake Texcoco.
Since it was an island there was a series of different islands but close together they built bridges to make it all one.
Tenochtitlan was the capital city of the Aztec Empire.
The city of Tenochtitlan was founded in 1325.
Tenochtitlan was pretty much completely surrounded by water so it made for good resources.

Aztec Houses are usually built in pyramid shape.
Often temples were very immense and prprotioned.
Most homes in the Aztec Empire were made of water, sand, clay, and a material such as straw.
A common roof on an Aztec roof would be made of straw.
A typical house in the Aztec Empire would be 50-82ft.

Where they built there empire was very strategic because they were so high above the ground they could spot there enemies.
Most of what was built was very stable considering that they always cut the stones to make sure there was no holes
They also had many different techniques like the wooden wedge technique which helped them alot with the architecture.
Dry-stone walls is what they used to build most of the Empire.
Inca Culture
Inca Language
This language was spoken by many people in the countries known to us right now.
The Inca language was destroyed by the Spanish in the 16th century.
The main language spoken by the citizens of the Inca empire is Quechua.
They also used a series of knots in order to send messages around the kingdom/empire.
Quechua first was noticed in 1560 in the form of a dictionary by Domingo de Santo Tomás
Inca Games
Tlachtli was one of the most popular games played in the Inca empire.
This game in corporates what people today do in soccer and basketball.
According to was some people know people who lost these games were put to death as sacrifices.
Many games played by children were associated with boards.
Many of the games that were played by adults were associated with gambling.
Inca Religion
Inti,
Mama ,Quilla ,Pachamama, and
Viracocha are examples of the gods they believed in.
There religion was considered a rich mythology.
The Incas believed in a god named Viracocha.
As a part of their religion they had human sacrifices.
The Majority/pretty much everyone was polytheistic.

They also involved some canals during the process for water.

These water ways were also used to water plants so the people wouldn't have to go side to side and up and down for so long.

They had special technology which helped to turn the water flow on and slow down.
