Family Life
The men who had multiple wives would normally be the wealthy ones rather than the husbands with only one wife.
Teaching your kids was a role the parents had to take care of.The mom would teach the daughters and the father would teach the sons
A man could have as much secondary wives he wants to have.The inheritors of everything would be the children from the first official wife.
As you grew older your punishments became more and more harsh compared to if you were smaller
Men in the Aztec empire were considered to be the head of the home.The men had a lot of power but the women also had much power in earlier times of the Aztec empire.
Food
One of the main sources to make food was algae.The high amount of protein in this algae helped make bread and cheese.
One of the famous meals for the Aztec was called Mixotes.This famous Aztec meal was made from rabbit,red sauce,and cactus.
Corn was a very helpful crop for the Aztec.Corn kernels were used to make a special dish called pozole.
The Aztec empire produced most of their food with crop plantations.They mainly produced corn,avocados,tomatoes and many more veggies.
Cacao was mixed with corn which made a special drink.This drink was considered special since it was considered to make you strong.
Clothing
If you were a slave for the Aztec empire all you would normally wear is a loincloth.If you were a girl you would normally just wear a skirt and short sleeve shirt.
The clothing varied according to what type of social class you belonged to.Some of your clothes could either made from cotton or ayate fiber.
If you were from the upper class you would have a special symbol or head dress to show it.If you practiced a special religion you would normally wear a symbol too.
Clothing back then for the Aztec were very different from the type of clothes we wear today.The clothes worn by the Aztec was very loose and didn't cover your whole body.
The most protective type of clothes you could wear was military clothes.Military clothes even provided protection for you head.
The fall of the Aztec empire
Montezuma
Cortes took Montezuma as his prisoner and Montezuma was killed.
Montezuma was the emperor of the Aztec empire.
It was easier for Cortes to conquer the Aztec since Cortes was initially well received.The Aztec empire was really religious and thought Cortes was a god who had brought horses and other things they had never seen.

Hernan Cortes was interested in stealing all the beautiful and valuable riches of the Aztec empire for other spanish conquistadors.
Hernan Cortes was a conquistador that came from a part of Spain called Extramadura
Conquered
Most of the Aztec empire inhabitants were wiped out with diseases and the fight for the Aztec empire.
After Cortes defeated the Aztec empire he returned to Spain as a very wealthy man.
Hernan Cortes had destroyed most of the arts and crafts of the Aztec culture.
Cortes had defeated the Aztec empire and became from that day on the ruler of Mexico for Spain.

Temples
Templo Major was one of the most famous temples.This temple was part of the sacred regions in Tenochtitlan that wasn't sunk by how swampy the area was.
Most of the temples were associated with the great pyramids.These pyramids also connected with the Aztec religion.
The Great Pyramid of Cholula ,it was constructed at a high elevation causing to be the highest temple in the world.
The Aztec referred to temples as teocalli.These temples were the home of the gods
Many things took place in these temples.Human sacrifice was taken place in these temples such as many other things.
Chinampas
Since this Aztec area was really swampy the chinampas was key to crop production.
A fence was put in between the stakes and then filled with vegetation and mud.After the vegetation and the mud was put in the chinampasflowers were ready to be grown.
Human excerment was used to fertilize the crops in the chinampas.
Chinampas were gardens that were used to grow large amounts of flowers.These gardens gave the Aztec empire its beauty and a colorful world.
Chinampas weren't the easiest gardens to make. Chinampas involved many steps when preparing small rectangular chinampa.

Pizarro
Francisco Pizarro was a conquistador who came from Extramadura.
Pizarro was interested in stealing gold and other riches form the Incas.
Atahualpa
Pizarro kidnapped Atahualpa to trick him into conquering the Inca empire.
Atahualpa died when Pizarro kidnapped him.Pizarro ordered one room full of gold and the other full of silver to let their emperor go.The Incas did everything as told but Pizarro didn't let him go.
Atahualpa was the emperor of the Inca empire.
Conquered
With Pizarro's conquest he opened most of South America to Spanish rule
The Inca emperor was killed,which left the empire with no order and was easier to conquer.
The spanish stole all of the valuable treasures of the Incas like their gold.Mostly all the cities were gone just like the Inca civilization was gone.
The spanish wiped out most of the Inca empire leaving it into complete ruins.
Machu Pichu
The Incas built more than 19000 miles of roads on their mountains.
Machu Pichu was not the capital of the Inca empire it was Cuzco.
Machu Pichu was divided into two parts one was Hanan which was the world that belonged to the sky (Sun and moon).
Machu Pichu was built in the shape of a jaguar.

Family Life
Common people didn't have freedom.They hardly had time for bathing,eating,and sleeping.
If you weren't working then that meant you were breaking a law.If you broke this law you would be punished with death.
When you got married the couple didn't exchange rings instead they exchanged a special pair of sandals.
The children of the nobles often had special treatment.These kids had a more elaborate way of living
Women were married at the age of sixteen and men were married at the age of twenty.
Clothing
Clothing was very important for the Inca's.Clothing showed other people in what social position you were in.
The royal family family wore colorful clothes with feathers,embroidery,feathers,and jewelry.
The rich and the poor were similar clothes except not the same fabrics.The fabrics for the poor would bes more rough than the rich textures.
Men wore a sleeveless tunic,but when it got chilly they would wear a cloak and sandals.
The women would wear a dress that reached to their ankles tied in their waist.
Food
The Inca's had a special diet which was mostly a vegetarian diet.Some people ate meat with some part of their meals.
Their exotic foods were sour cherries,custard apples,elderberries,cactus fruits,pineapples,and bananas.
The Inca's weren't able to access pigs,cows,sheep or turkeys so they normally just had two choices llamas or alpacas.
Food was stored in qollqa 's.These storage rooms were organized in neat rows.
The Inca's drank llama water and llama milk.For their daily meal they would have guinea-pigs and some water or milk.

Walls
The walls helped Machu Pichu get the shape of a jaguar.
Only some walls were painted or adorned with symbols.
These walls were made out of three different types of stones.
The walls had a lot of resistance.It would take more than 500 years of earthquakes to destroy the Inca empire.
It took many months for a single wall to be built in the Inca empire
Fountains
The fountains made it possible for the Incas to have fresh and clean water in their mouths.
The "stairway of fountains" was water that traveled through a channel and into sixteen fountains,and gave water first to the emperor.
Fountains were another way to help avoid erosion in Machu Pichu.
Fountains gave 300 to 1000 people access to water while the emperor was still present.
Fountains helped carry water into the dry areas of Machu Pichu.
Tenochtitlan
Tenochtitlan was expanded throughout the years.The people were divided into groups which consisted of poor people.
Tenochtitlan was built in a organized central area and a unorganized outside region.
Tenochtitlan was made out of stone to have strong structures.
Tenochtitlan was divided into five different quadrants
