Cortez
He was a Spanish conquistador in search of treasure.
He was from Extremadura were there was little chance of wealth.

Montezuma thought Cortez was the god Quetzalcoatl.
People turned against the Aztec , so they helped the Spanish one way or the other.
They brought diseases to the Aztec.
They had more advanced weapons.

Religion
The priest did not bathe or cut there hair. They walked around with dried blood covering there body.
the ceremonial bathing not only cleaned them, but they also did it to be religiously purified.
Human sacrifice was an important part of there religion. They practiced it on a greater scale then anywhere in human history.
Rooms for sacrificing are at the top of the temples they had.Instead of tearing down old temples, Aztec would just keep adding levels to the temples, and for some odd reason they did not clean the temples.
They were polytheistic which means they believed in many gods.
Language
Only the priest could actually write in Nahuatl.
This language is the most spoken native language in mexico.
Some words in English actually came from the Nahuatl language. Some examples are chocolate, tomato, and coyote.
Nahuatl is in fact also known as the Mexican Language.
The language that was spoken was Nahuatl, and it is still spoken by 1.5 million people today.
Family Life

To make Chinampas Aztecs make a bed lake 30 m to 2.5 m, then they would weave them, and they then would be allowed to start growing crops.
The Aztec gave Chinampas more stable fencing by creating a willow at the edge of it.

This is when farmers farm along the edges of the city on rafts.They grew tomatoes, corn, beans, and chilies.

Instead of building new temples they built more levels on the existing temple.

Aztec temples were known as God houses.

Pizzaro took him hostage and the Inca had to give two rooms full of gold and silver to Pizzaro for there emperor.
Pizzaro took the treasure and ended up killing Atahualpa.

The Inca were amazing farmers.

They were made by the awesome Inca builders.
They were also used to create more arable land.

They brought fresh drinking water to fountains.
