Clothing
Woman at a young age were taught how to weave fiber and cotton to make clothing for themselves and other people in their village or town.
How much clothing you wear depends on your social standing in the Aztec culture. If you are a slave you only wear little pieces of cloth covering the parts that are needed to be covered.
-
Aztec clothing was very loose, and it usually didn't cover most of a persons's body.
Aztec Clothing played a huge part in their economy, because if you had a certain amount of clothe on (this shows your social standing) you could buy a slave. clothe of an Aztec slave :arrow_right:
Food
The Aztecs ate the food they could farm on their chinampas . But, they mostly ate corn. This gave them a stable source of protein, and other nutrients.
Meat was not a big part on their diet. Only because it took a good deal of energy hunting and skinning the animal .Also, There wasn't an abundant supply of meat on their island.
The Aztec had some weird things on their plate. Some Aztec ate insects or even insect eggs!! But, you would only find those who can't afford real food eating them.
Beans also played a big part in this culture. They are one of the main sources of protein for the Aztec, besides corn. Researchers say beans were served in every meal!
Aztecs also ate some weird fruits and vegetables. They still ate avocados, onions, and tomatoes. But, on top of that they ate squah seeds and a pear cactus called Nopal (picture :arrow_right:).
Tenochtitlan
This city was split into four zones , and these zones were divided into twenty districts.
In the center of the city was a giant pyramaid called Templo Mayor. Templo Mayor :arrow_right:
Tenochititlan was built on a lake called Lake Texaco. It still reminds a mystery on how such a big and populous city like it was able to sit on a lake .
Tenochititlan was thought to have the most complex society in the Americas. There were many, many social classes. Even commoners were split into a certain level of "commoners".

Temples
-
-
Each temple was named after an aztec god. For example, Templo Mayor is the "house" of the gods Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc. Therefore, it makes sense they call their temples Teocalli.
Some people believe that if they pray at one of them, that they will gain some sort of power.
Aztec temples were called by Mexicas, Teocalli. Teocalli means god houses
Chinampas
-
Chinampas is a Nahuatl word meaning "square made of canes". This serves to the right that it was used in some part of agriculture.

Aztec Conquered

When the Spanish came they didn't only bring weapons, but they also brought diseases. Smallpox killed more Aztecs than the Spanish did., leaving them vulnerable.
The Spanish used horses, canons, and guns to surprise and shock the Aztec.
-
Montezuma
Montezuma welcomed Hernan because he thought he was a god. Only because the Aztec have never seen anything they were wearing, so it helped them believe that he was of some sort "special". This stupid mistake led to the end of the Aztec Empire.
People are arguing on how he died. So, no one can really say how he died, only that he was killed in a battle. Some say he was stoned to death, and others beg to differ.
Hernan Cortes
Cortes is from Extremadura , Spain. The same place Pizarro is from.
