CIRCULAR MOTION (BOARDS LEVEL)
CIRCULAR MOTION :
"When a Particle moves along the Circumference of a Circle, its Motion is called Circular Motion"
RADIUS VECTOR (POSITION VECTOR) (Vector r) :
"The Vector Drawn from the center of the Circle to the Position of the Particle performing Circular Motion is called the Radius Vector"
ANGULAR DISPLACEMENT (δΘ) :
"The Angle described by the radius vector at the center of the circle when the particle moves from one point to another point on the circumference of the Circle is called Angular Displacement"
ANGULAR VELOCITY (Vector ω) :

ANGULAR ACCELERATION (Vector α) :
"The time Rate of change of Angular Velocity of a Particle is called Angular Acceleration"
RIGHT-HAND RULE :
"Imagine the Axis of Rotation to be held in the Right Hand with fingers curled around it and thumb stretched along the axis of rotation. If the Curled fingers denotes the Sense of Rotation, then the Thumb denotes the direction of Infinitesimal Angular Displacement (or) Angular Velocity"
RIGHT HANDED SCREW RULE :
"If a right-handed screw is rotated in the Sense of rotation of the particle, then its tip advances in the direction of the angular displacement"
TANGENTIAL ACCELERATION :
"For a particle performing Circular Motion the linear acceleration tangential to the path that produces a change in the linear speed of the particle is called the tangential acceleration"
UNIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION (U.C.M.) :
"The motion of a particle along the circumference of a circle with constant linear speed, angular speed and angular velocity is called Uniform Circular Motion"
PERIODIC MOTION :
"A motion that repeats itself in equal intervals of time is called as periodic motion"
PERIOD (T) :
"Time taken by a particle performing Uniform Circular Motion (U.C.M.) to complete one revolution is called as the period of revolution or period (T) of U.C.M."
U.C.M. AS PERIODIC MOTION :
"In a Uniform Motion, a Particle covers equal Distances in equal intervals of time. Any Motion Which Repeats Itself in Equal Intervals of Time is Periodic Motion. In U.C.M., the Particle takes the same time to complete each revolution, a distance equal to the Circumference of the Circle. Therefore, U.C.M. is Periodic in Nature."
FREQUENCY (n) :
"The number of revolutions performed by a particle performing U.C.M. per unit time is called as Frequency of revolution"
CENTRIPETAL ACCELERATION IN U.C.M. :
"The acceleration of a particle performing U.C.M. which is directed towards the center and along the radius of circular path is called as Centripetal acceleration 'or' Radial Acceleration"
CENTRIPETAL FORCE :
"The force which is acting on a particle performing U.C.M. towards the center of the circle and along the radius is called as centripetal force"
PSEUDO FORCE :
"The Force whose Origin is Not known due to known Interactions like Gravitational, Electrostatic (or) Nuclear Forces is called as Pseudo Force."
CENTRIFUGAL FORCE :
"The Force which is acting on a particle in U.C.M. directed away from center of circle and along the radius is called as Centrifugal Force"
CENTRIFUGE :
"A centrifuge is a machine used to separate heavier particles and lighter particles in a mixture"
HORIZONTAL CURVED ROAD :
"A road whose two edges are horizontal (at same level) is called Horizontal Curved Road"
BANKED CURVED ROAD (BANKING OF ROAD) :
"For safety of a vehicle moving along a curved road at high speed, the road surface is kept inclined to horizontal so that outer edge of road is at higher level than inner edge. This construction of road is called as banking of road"
ANGLE OF BANKING (Θ) :
"The Angle made by the Banked Curved Road Surface with the Horizontal is called the Angle of Banking"
ELEVATION OF ROAD (HEIGHT OF BANKING)(h) :
"The height through which the outer edge is raised than its inner edge to bank the road is called as elevation of road"
CONICAL PENDULUM :
"A small heavy sphere (called bob) suspended by a lightweight and in-extensible string from a rigid support and revolving in a horizontal circle with a uniform speed is called a conical pendulum"
PERIOD OF CONICAL PENDULUM :
*"The time taken by the bob of Conical Pendulum to complete one Revolution is called Period of Conical Pendulum."
