Counselling
involves
Career counsellor to help client see how career planning and job search efforts are repeated throughout one's lifetime.
Career counsellors to help clients prepare their mindset so that they recognise what employers are looking for
-

-
the clients (job seekers) will then address a primary question; ie. how they can benefit the employers, rather than how employers can benefit them.
Career counsellors, when helping clients in the job search, should have the mindset of a Recruiter or Hiring Manager, or even a Headhunter. Their job is to find and hire the best candidate for the employers.
With this mindset, career counsellor will first identify the employer's demand, then help the clients, as prospective applicants, to meet that demand.
With the right mindset, career counsellors help the clients enter the mind of the employers, thus understanding why they do what they do.
