A Study of how High Expectations
Affects Stress Levels and how to Minimise Increased Stress Levels
Introduction
If the student has a relatively low test score, it would lower his self-confidence and his morale.
For higher levels of cognitive test anxiety, it results in significantly lower test scores.
This may lead to heightened stress for his upcoming assignments, and may further lower his overall score for the subject.
Feasibility
Students should be in the best mental state when under assessment, so as to most accurately evaluate their grasp of knowledge of the subject.
This topic is related to the schooling life of my peers and myself.
This topic is very relevant and worth researching as through this topic, we can possibly improve the scores of our tests.
Manageability
In Week 7, surveys will be given out to my schoolmates to find out their revision habits and the extent of their pre-exam stress.
In Week 8, an interview of a different batch of students will be conducted to evaluate my proposed revision strategies and how it can be further improved to reduce stress, and at the same time meet the test expectations.
