High Angle Framing
Shows the protagonist is weak and vulnerable.
Makes the audience question what is following her.
Reframing
Can suggest unsuspected movements that the audience and camera man/woman didn't know would happen.
Idea
Combine this framing with POV angles. Could suggest that the character is unaware of her surroundings. Creating a tense and uneasy ambience.
Wide Lense
Capture more of the setting creating a better understanding of the scene.
Canted Framing
Suggest danger.
Idea

Point of View
The audience can experience the characters version of the events creating a better acknowledgement of the feeling the protagonist is going through.
Focus
Deep Focus
Captures the setting around the protagonist creating a better understanding of the setting.
Shallow Focus
Eliminates background distractions for the audience. Engaging their attention more on the characters dialogue / movement.
Idea
combining this with a POV shot could suggested blurred vision. Could connote tearing up as they're scared increasing the scare factor.
Racking Focus

Idea
Use a shallow focus when the audience can see a shadow/figure of someone behind the character. When they turn around / acknowledge that direction the focus becomes deep and there is nothing / no one there.
Movement
Pan Movement
Showing unframed scenery.
Idea
Combined with POV can show the person uncertainty and awareness of whats around them.
Tilt Movement
Increases suspense.
Steadicam Movement
Smooth movement that follows a person or can be used as a POV technique.
Tracking Shot Movement
Follows the subject without breaking the audiences attention as there is no need to use any form of edit.
Lighting Ideas
Natural
Natural lighting could be used from aspects such as signs and windows could be used effecting the realism of the scene and its ambience.
Low Key
Low key lighting will be more effective than High key as it creates a more dull and tense feel to the project.
Three Pont
Three point lighting can be used to focus the audiences attention on the character and their actions.
Sound Design
Diegetic
Dialogue
Characters will talk within the film to express their thoughts and feelings on their scenario.
In scene Sound
Hear aspects around the character as they pass through areas.
Idea
We see a drip from the ceiling, we also hear it.
Non-Diegetic
Music
Music types will aim to create uneasy and tense situations.
Idea
Music could be used in a Jaws like effect for certain events.
Post-Synchronisation Sound
I will add additional sounds such as when the creature they feel around the character is there.
Idea
A high frequency sound could suggest the protagonist has no way in contacting someone demonstrating the power of the creature we feel is around them.
Voiceover
Initial ideas do not include a voice over as I am using dialogue from the characters within shot.
Visual Effects
Computer Generated Imagery
Computer graphics that contribute images into video or other forms of media.
Idea
Take various shots of different shadows that can be used by the super natural creature to scare audience members
In-Camera effects
Using techniques found on the camera to create an ambience for a scene.
Idea
Lower the ISO and use a higher shutter speed to create a more darkly lit image.
