Don't talk too much about yourself! Aknowledge the things you know about THEM. Talk to them about themselves. "Thanks for opting in, Bob. Attached is your free guide. Now I want to talk to you about some of the things that I know you run into every day. If you're like many of my ___(clients, followers, etc), a lot of them have issues actually generating __(more followers, money online, etc) with their business. Looking out, you know there's a huge opportunity in advertising and marketing, but it's difficult to know what direction to head in. For me and my company, we spend a lot of time looking at what REALLY brings results for businesses/brands/people, and something we know that helps businesses, is working with somebody that gets to know their business as well as they know their own business! (Make the argument as to WHY you understand THEM!) If you explain why you understand their own problems, they will automatically instill trust in you.
