What I Know Already
- Muhammad was believed to be a prophet sent by Allah to restore Islamic faith.
- When Muhammad died, there was a large disturbance in the followers of Islamic faith because they disagreed on who should be the caliph.
- It also represented unity and it was fair to the people it conquered.
- The Sunnis believed only descendants of Muhammad and his family could be appointed Caliph, while the Shi'ah believed that any Muslim man could be appointed Caliph.
- Islamic faith in around 600 CE was an innocent religion that represented equality.
