ISTE Standards For Teachers
Digital Citizenship:
embrace digital citizenship and be a role model for students
both concepts talk about the importance of digital citizenship and what that citizenship means
*Professional Growth and Leadership:
teachers use technology professionally and lead by example to help the students in their schools with the knowledge and skill they have
Facilitate and Inspire Students:
Teachers aid and support the creativity and ideas of their students through the use of technology
both encourage student learning through critical thinking and creativity
Work and Learning Through Technology:
teachers set examples by using technology for activities or events that would occur in the real world outside of school and help students learn by integrating these technologies into the classroom
Constantly Modifying Lesson Plans with New Technological Advancements:
teachers must develop and design ways to incorporate technology into learning by trying out new technology or newer models or adaptations. This is a constant process
ISTE Standards For Students
Communication:
Students learn how to express themselves creatively and effectively with the use of technology
Empowered Learner:
Students are inspired by technology to create fun and interactive learning environments that motivates them to learn
Both concepts talk about improving student's learning environments by using and implementing technology
Globally Connected:
Students connect and communicate with other students or any other individuals across a global scale through technology. This can include connecting students in different countries or just the two schools across the street without leaving their classroom.
Digital Citizenship:
Students learn their role, responsibilities and opportunities with technology in today's world
both concepts talk about the importance of digital citizenship and what that citizenship means
Technology Enhancing Thinking:
Students are encouraged and provided opportunity to think creatively and innovative through the use of technology
