War of 1812

It was fought between the United States of America and the United Kingdom, its North American colonies, and its Native American allies.

The United States were angry at the British because they brought trade restrictions, which sparked the war.
The U.S sent a declaration of war to the British. The conflict officially started on June 18th, 1812.

The British launched many invasions of the United States, however an invasion of New York was defeated.
The Rebellions

The Rebellion in Lower Canada began first, in November 1837.

The French made up an elected assembly but was overruled by an appointed Legislative Council dominated by wealthy British merchants called the Chateau Clique. This group suppressed French culture and rights.
Louis Joseph Papineau and his group called the Patriotes sent the 92 Resolutions, which was a list of demands for political change to London. The requests were denied, and the Patriotes reacted with violence.

Seven Years' War
The seven years war was a fight between Britain and Quebec because they both tried to expand their empires across northern america.

The war turned the first nations tribes against each other. The algonquin and huron alied with france, but the Iroquois went with britten.

By 1760, the French had been expelled from Canada, and by 1763 all of France’s allies in Europe had either made a separate peace with Prussia or had been defeated. In addition, Spanish attempts to aid France in the Americas had failed, and France also suffered defeats against British forces in India.
The treaty ensured the colonial and maritime supremacy of Britain and strengthened the 13 American colonies by removing their European rivals to the north and the south. Fifteen years later, French bitterness over the loss of most of their colonial empire contributed to their intervention in the American Revolution on the side of the Patriots.

in 1757, British Prime Minister William Pitt (the older) recognized the potential of imperial expansion that would come out of victory against the French and borrowed heavily to fund an expanded war effort. Pitt financed Prussia’s struggle against France and her allies in Europe and reimbursed the colonies for the raising of armies in North America.
