My Status in Society
Mother
I became pregnant at age 18, and had my son, Cody, at age 19. I was unable to complete high school but I would not be the person I am today without giving birth to him.
A mother is cherished highly in all social societies. In most societies, however, it is frowned upon to not be married before conceiving. I have overcome many challenges because I did not have a supportive parter for these past 7 years.
I have the responsibility of making sure my son is taken care of in all aspects: physically, nutritionally, hygienically, medically, socially and mentally.
Student
Unable to get a good job without a college degree and feeling like my business was not as successful as it could be, I decided to get my GED and start college in 2016.
I plan to get my P.H.D. in Psychology and own a behavioral health firm while practicing. I am always going to take my knowledge from owning a small business and continue that practice throughout my life.
I will be contributing to the economy with my small business. I also hope to spread the knowledge that society doesn't need to run to pharmaceutical drugs everytime they have a mental issue. Psychology is an extremely powerful thing and we can do so much more than we think we are capable of with just our minds.
Entrepreneur
Fighting to become an "owner" rather than a "worker", I fought the social norm of finding a 9 to 5 job and started my own business in 2013 called Loving Clean.
Successful at first, I later decided to put my house cleaning business on hold so I could pursue and education and later become even more successful.
By owning my own business I am making more money per year. By doing that, I am allowing myself to buy items I need to become more self-sufficient. My plan is to use my own resources and therefore leave more resources for the rest of society.
Big Sister
When I was little I used to pray to a God that might not exist and ask for a little sister to walk to school everyday. I felt alone in the world and knew I would be a great example for a small child. Now I have two sisters and a little brother, all adopted.
Being a big sister is a responsibility. I was never taught these responsibilities so I took what I knew from movies and social "norms" in order to become the best example for my siblings.
My efforts in being a good big sister means that I will help shape my siblings' minds. I am contributing to society by helping them learn how to contribute to society themselves. One of the main priorities in my social society is making sure that my family does not have to rely on the government to get through life.
