Isabel Hernandez: Reflecting on My Growth through the Personal Project
Support
My dad helped me throughout the whole process. He guided me through making the mini bench.
My sister supported me by providing advice on the final look of the bench. For example the bench color.
Ms. Kybett helped me choose making a mini bench by giving me an idea through a given project for her class.
Challenges
One challenge that I faced was not having a certain tool to do a cut out, but I had multiple other tools to do the job as the laser wood cutter could do.
Then I faced trying to meet with my supervisor. It was challenging because she seemed to have a busy schedule so I had to directly speak to her.
Another obstacle I faced was having to get it done way before needed since it was for another project as well.
Mindset
Another mindset I was on was success because I was working hard throughout it all.
I was engagingly expansive when creating the bench.
My attitude throughout this whole project was positive.
IB Traits
Caring was one because I cared about how the final outcome of the product was going to look.
I was reflective over giving the bench a purpose. It had a meaning since it was also for my art project.
Thinkers was one IB trait I used by thinking through the process.
Learning Styles
I was socializing on this project for advice, help, and direction.
I was a physical learner because I had to be physical by actually being able to create the bench myself. I had to be able to touch.
One learning style I used is visual learning because I could understand more and take more from watching the process on a video.
ATL Skills
Research was one ATL skill I used because there was a lot of it done.
Communication was an important aspect for this because it was used for directions.
Thinking was one ATL skill I used because I was a creative thinker.
