They are unstructured interviews so therefore they will take longer due to going off into conversations.

Quicker than doing separate interviews, this method interviews all interviewees at once.

Small groups of people so it's not very representative and you cannot generalise findings to the research population

You get consent and informed consent due to the researched topic being clearly stated to the participants.

Confidentiality and anonymity not really possible due to everybody talking face to face and everyone can hear what each other.

A group interview consists of a researcher interviewing a group of participants instead of interviewing them one at a time. They are unstructured interviews so therefore produce Qualitative data that is high in validity - therefore Interpretivists prefer this interview method as they value validity over reliability.
