Technology Standards for Education
ISTE Standard for Students
Empowered Learner :+1:
Make learning environments that will facilitate the learning process. Set goals for learning, and develop strategies, and reflect on this process to improve the learning outcomes. As well as, understand how to use technology in making choices, and trouble shooting current technologies to make the best of what they have.

Digital CItizen :desktop_computer:
Students must know how to manage their digital profiles, and personal data and be aware of privacy and security and know that what is put onto the web is there forever, so they must take caution.
Knowledge Constrcutor :check:
Students must be able to effectively find relevant information on the web for research purposes, and accurately evaluate the accuracy and credibility of the information. Demonstrate that they are able to relate the information they find to answer real world questions.

Innovative Designer :red_flag:
Students must be able to come up with new creative and imaginative solutions using technology. They must use the digital tools to enhance their work and organization of information in a creative style and design.
Computational Thinker :fountain_pen:
Students must use technological tools to analyze data and information and represent it in a variety of ways. Also, they must use technology to facilitate problem solving and decision making, as well as separate the information and extract key points and organize them in descriptive models.

Creative Communicator :silhouettes:
Students must be able to use the appropriate programs and platforms for communication of their creation. Must be able to make their own creative works, or revise or change the works of others, and be able to post it to appropriate platforms to be evaluated by the appropriate audiences.
Global Collaborator :silhouettes:
Students must be able to use technology to effectively communicate with other learners form all over the world. They must also be able to effectively collaborate on work online with other students or people that cannot necessarily be able to do so in person due to location.

Everyone must have access to devices, as well as the things needed for the devices to run (access to many outlets in class, chargers, strong WiFi, etc.), as well as tech support for the devices as well and WiFi.

All professional staff in schools must be able to use the technology available to them well, and to its fullest potential.
School authorities must take into account professional development days, and train school staff on how to use technology effectively to assist student centered learning.

Teachers must be confident in using technology to meet the needs of all students, no matter how diverse.

Teachers must keep track of current technology that can enhance education, and must apply this research to their classroom for teaching and learning.

Students must be able to use technology to share and access knowledge. They must also be manage and access the information they find online, as well as organize it effectively.

Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity :art:
Teachers must use technology to keep students engaged in real life problems and situations. As well as use technology to assist collaboration between students to construct knowledge, even when face-to-face interaction is unavailable.

Design and Develop Digital Age and Leaning Experiences
Teachers look back at the classic ways of learning, and try to incorporate technology and newer tools and resources that could help maximize the development of relevant skills and knowledge, but easier with the help of this technology.

Teachers must show that they are competent in the use of technology and support student use and discovery of technological tools.
Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility : :computer:
Teachers must always be improving and always learning when it comes to their proficiency in technology. They must also reflect on what is current in research and professional practice to make sure that they are effectively using their technology.

Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers must teach about and understand what is currently relevant in the world, and teach students about internet safety, as well as etiquette (in terms of copyrights and proper citation). As well as, demonstrate how they can also become informed and develop cultural and global awareness

ICT Program of Studies
The ICT curriculum is not meant to stand alone, but rather be infused within core subjects and their specific outcomes.

Technology is about the tools you use and how these tools and techniques can change the way humans do things. It is about the new ways of doing things, easier and more effectively, while making decisions, inquiring or solving problems.

This is about using a variety of processes to critically asses the information you have and use it to solve problems and make decisions.

This is about the knowledge and skills to use a lot of different basic programs and tools.
