1,300,000 palm of 20 different kinds in draa valley

Draa river is 1,300km long , used to reach Atlantic ocean but dries up in the desert , due to construction of the dam in 1969

Since Morocco’s independence problems of sand encroachment have got much worse
Led to increases livestock, overgrazing pasture, increased demands for cooking and heating
