Technology Standards for Education
ISTE for Students
Empowered Learner:
Students are in control of how they use technology in order to guide their own learning. Students should be able to set personal goals and use technology in order to help them achieve those goals. (Connection #1: Students are able to choose what they want to learn about)
Digital Citizen:
Students should know their rights and responsibilities that are connected to the digital world and they make sure that they act in a safe, legal and ethical manner.

Innovative Designer:
Students use many different types of digital tools in order to guide their learning and they are able to correctly identify and solve their own problems and also create their own solutions. (Connection: Students should be able to use technology in order to solve their own problems)
Creative Communicator:
Students use their creativity in order to express themselves by utilizing a variety of resources, such as digital media, appropriately and responsibly in order to reach their goals. (Connection: Students can use technology as a resource in order to reach their personal learning goals).
Global Collaborator:
Students use digital technology in order to collaborate with others so they can learn other peoples perspectives in order to broaden their own perspective. (Connection: Communication is allowing students to share each others ideas and beliefs, so they can develop different perspectives)

Student Centred Learning:
Technology should support student centred learning that is authentic (students are able to relate) in order to promote student learning within the classroom. (Connection #1: Students are able to choose what they want to learn about) (Connection #2: Technology supports authentic learning)

Professional Learning:
Teachers develop and maintain skills that will help them use technology effectively and efficiently to support teaching and learning. (Connection: Teachers are in charge of keeping up to date with technology and improving their teaching skills in order to provide the best for their students) (Connection #2: Teachers have knowledge about how to use technology so they can use it in their classroom to enhance students learning).
Research and Innovation:
Teachers, administrators and any other educators use practices that are shown to work to enhance student's learning.
Leadership:
Education leaders create policies that enable schools to incorporate technology into daily lesson plans in order to support student centred learning.
Access, Infrastructure and Digital Learning Environments:
All students, teachers and other any other professionals have access to proper technology that is equitable; in that way everyone has the chance to use the technology and no one is left out.

Facilitate & Inspire Student Learning and Creativity:
Teachers posses the knowledge and skills that they will incorporate within their classroom along technology in order to provide the best learning environment and opportunities for their students.
Design and Develop Digital Learning Experiences and Assessments:
Teachers use technology in order to create authentic learning environments and promote student learning within the classroom. This will allow students to relate better with the material that is being taught. (Connection #2: Technology supports authentic learning)

Model Digital Age Work and Learning:
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills and fluency of technology to use in their profession. (Connection #2: Teachers have knowledge about how to use technology so they can use it in their classroom to enhance students learning).

Teachers continue to improve their political practice and demonstrate leadership by knowing how to correctly and effectively use digital tools.
