What is it?
the psychological experience of a person who, while engaged in a task, is aware of a stereotype about his or her identity group suggesting that he or she will not perform well on that task

Why does it happen?

Demotivates? Or maybe people work too hard to get right answers and then don't get enough questions answered

How do we stop it?
- Reduce the stereotype relevance of the task
- Provide an alternative explanation for task difficulty
- provide a successful task strategy
