Hockey basics
Equipment
Pelvic protecter - a pelvic protecter is the very first thing you put on. (This is called a jockstrap for boys.) This, for girls protects you kidneys and the iner thigh. There are straps that strap around your legs to keep it more secure.
Shin pads - shin pads protect your shin from the puck or even when you fall. The shin pad straps around the back of your lower leg.
Hockey socks - hockey socks go over your shin pads for better looks for the team. Most of the time they match with the hockey jersey.
Breezer's - breezers are like over sized shorts with padding on the outside. The padding covers all around you mid body. (Knees to hips)
Shoulder pads - shoulder pads are extra padding for your shoulders just in case you fall on your shoulders. They are strapped around your stomach and arm to keep it more secure
Elbow pads - elbow pads cover your elbows. When you fall, they protect your elbows and a little bit of your forearm. They strap around your fore elbow. Some different elbow pads strap more then once.
Hockey jersey - A hockey jersey is an over sized shirt that fits over your shoulder and elbow pads. In the professional leagues, your jersey would have a fight strap on it. A fight strap is something that connects to your breezeers so that the opponent can not pull your jersey over your head. ( that is when you are in a fight.)
Mouth gaurd - mouth guards protect your teeth and mouth from a puck. Even with a helmet on, the puck can still hit you so hard that it can hurt your mouth. And professional leagues, they do not have face cages. They just have a glass sheild protector. They definitely need mouthguards if they do not want missing teeth.
Hockey helmet - a hockey helmet is like a helmet. It goes on your head and straps to your chin. In the front of the helmet there is a visor or a face cage. That protects your face from a flying puck.
Hockey gloves - hockey gloves protect your hands from a puck or a fall. Other wise, they are pretty self explanatory. They just have extra padding on the outside.
Hockey skates - hockey skates are the most important part in your equipment. The spot you put you foot in is called a boot. Then the white part with the blade attached is called the touuk. Then there is that blade. That is often sharpened for a good sharp blade and a better edge.
Rules
Offside - offside occurs when a offensive player enters the offensive zone prior to the puck . That causes a whistle and then the next face off is outside of the zone.
Penalty kills- penalty kills occurs when your team gets a penalty and you have to skate short handed.
-
Icing - icing occurs when a defending team player hits the puck all the way down the ice. The puck can not be touched otherwise it is waved off.
Face offs - the referee drops the puck at a dot or the center circle. Two player of the opposite teams compete to get the puck forward or back to there team.
Goalie pull- a goalie pull is when your team is losing the game. This is typically done in the third period. You have the option to pull your goalie and put a extra skater on the ice.

Basics
Shooting - when you have a chance to shoot the puck on the net,.
Skating - when you skate, you take a stride with each leg, make sure you fully extend your leg for a better stride.
Passing - passing with your team can confuse the other team, make them all over the ice for your team to have more space to take a shot.
Goalie basics - the goalie tries to stop the puck with there pads, glove, blocker, stick, helmet, and chest pad.
