There are many versions of the painting made with different techniques. One pastel and two painted versions.
Judgement
The painting evokes many feelings. The face and the substance of the person evoke fear, angst, desperation and loneliness.
There is no historical subject that would relate to the painting. The painting was created in the era of expressionism.
The work of art is very effective. It makes you ponder what has happened and what is about to happen. It shows very clearly that everything is not alright and the person is panicing and needs help.
I could buy the work of art but i wouldn't like to watch it in my bedroom. It doesn't have the most positive affect to its audience. It is a bit depressing. I would place it to a big a room where it wouldn't dominate too much.
