K'Desha Dorsey: Reflecting On My Growth Through The Personal Project
ATL Skills
Research. I used this ATL skill by researching all the different incidents that has occurred in 2015-2016 with teen violence.
Self Management. I used this ATL skill by managing my time and making sure i keep up with my timeline and staying up to date.
Communication. I used this ATL skill by communicating with my uncle about some of the police cases he has about teen violence And i communicated with my aunt about how she felt about what happened to my cousin due to Teen violence and rap music.
Learning Styles
Another way i learned was by doing my research through the computer and books and things.
The final way i learned was by reading police reports and watching based off of true stories movies. I also watched some documentaries.
One way i learned were by communicating with some people and interviewing them.
Mindset
Then as i beginned to start the project i found myself wanting to work on it even more.
When i first beginned the project i didnt really want to do it and i thought it would be boring.
Now i love what i chose because ive learned so much about the way teens think and how music influence us in so many ways but mostly negative
challenges
Another challenge i faced was putting everything together. Like all the information and pictures. Just figuring out the order of everything.
One challenge i Faced was trying to figure out what to say during the interviews i did to find out some information.
The final challenge i had to face was finding materials and learning how to use them. For example my uncle let me use his apple computer that dont have a keyboard so i had to figure out how to type .
Support
My friends also helped me. They went home and did some research and helped me put it together so that i can create my final product.
One person who supported me alot was my aunt. I know it was hard on her to reflect on what happened to my cousin but she held herself up to help me.
Another person who supported me was my uncle because he took me to the police department and showed me police reports and some cases and video footage of some teen violence
I.B Traits
I finally had to be balanced i had to balance my time with work and family things. I had to manage my time wisely and i had to balance my time with other people time.
I also had to be an thinker. I had to think about the process and i had to think about questions to ask during the interview and i had to think about who would be good to interview.
I had to be open minded because alot of things that people told me i didnt want to accept because of the fact that alot of them were family members and i didnt wanna hear what they had to say about what really happened to my cousins.
