Eileen Arevalo: Reflecting on My Growth through the Personal Project
ATL Skills
I improved on my social skill due to presentations
I learned how to research by looking at different resources and organizing them in annotated bibliography.
I learned to self manage my time in order to complete my project by creating timelines.
Support
I had a music mentor
I googled some tips and skills/techniques
I met with my mentor after school in school to learn how to play the guitar.
IB Traits
Think: Overtime I learned to process information faster like the chords and finger position.
Open-Minded: I became more open-minded due to receiving more tips and lessons about guitars.
Communicate: I learned how to communicate better through all the presentations.
Chanllenges
Learning how to strum the song I will perform was a challenge.
Making the corrects sounds on the guitar was a challenge.
Another challenge was meeting with my mentor often.
Mindset
In the beginning I was excited about this project because I saw it as an opportunity to learn a new skill
In the middle I became lazy because the soundss werent coming out right and I couldnt meet with my mentor so I was about to give up
Lastly Im stressed because there is lots to do in a short period of time.
Learning Style
I became a hands on learner because I had to learn techniques like strumming.
I also became an auditory learner because I needed to pay attention to sounds of the guitar.
I usually learn by watching others demonstrate.
