What do they do?
Everyday, Caritas Australia and their local partners are supporting people in need around the world.
They assist them to break poverty, regardless of their ethnicity, political beliefs, gender or religion

They implement disaster risk reduction strategies, particularly in pacific islands, where the villagers are experiencing rising sea levels.
They help farmers with sustainable agriculture practices, such as the Farmer Field School in Nepal
They build water catchments in regions like Ethiopia, so communities have access to fresh, clean water and are able to grow crops
They also provide access to education and workshops in regions of South-East Asia, so vulnerable people can learn new skills
They provide training to rural midwives in quality antenatal, delivery and postanatal care for women in rural areas.
Lastly, they alleviate poverty in Indigenous Australia through projects such as the Tihanpi Desert Weavers which generates an income and provide sustainable development opportunities for women in rural communities.
