It;s located in far southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula Spain is geographically positioned in the northern, as well as the eastern and western hemispheres. Spain is bordered by the countries of Andorra, France and Portugal, and by the British colony of Gibraltar.

The natural resources of Spain are coal, lignite, iron ore, tungsten, uranium, zinc, copper, lead, and mercury.

Historical significance
Madrid, originally called Mayrit, was founded by the emir Muhammad at the end of the 9th century.
Their is a fort/castle in Madrid,This fort was occupied by the Moors,the Moors kept rule until Madrid was finally conquered in 1085 by Alfonso, the 6th.La Virgen de la Almudena later became Madrid's female patron saint, whose saint's day is celebrated on 9th November and who gives her name to Madrid's cathedral.
In the year 1329, King Fernando the 5th assembled The Court of Madrid for the first time.
