Behaviourism

They believe you can only study measurable behaviour-use the LAB experiment(observable and measurable) and don't believe in the study of mental processes-can't be measured with accuracy.
Use research using animals because it's believed humans and animals share the same basic principles of learning

Classical Conditioning, e.g. Pavlov (1849-1936)

Pavlov and time continuity - association only occurs where the NS/UCS are paired together close in time, therefore, classical conditioning can become extinct if CS and UCS unpaired for too long-UNLEARNED
Watson and Rayner (1927)-Little Albert-Watson did this to show anyone can fear anything if conditioned. NOT methodological-not portraying a representation-LOW population validity-study cannot be generalised-breached the ethical issue PROTECTION FROM HARM
C C can generalise (Stimulus Generalisation) where response focused on multiple stimuli linked with the first, instead of the first alone at the start-can lead to stimulus discrimination.
