Lebanese Civil War: It was fought between Sunnis and Shiitees at the land of Lebanon as both sides belong to different ethnic groups of Islam and they both wanted the government control of Lebanon.
Nigerian Civil War: Biafran war was also one of the most lethal in history, that was fought because of religion and ethnic disputes and conflict in the land of Nigeria.
The Crusades: The Crusades is just a catch-all title for the multiple religious wars and fights that were fought between Muslims and Christians. These wars were due to the religious disputes and controls over land in Jerusalem.

Lawful Authority:
The legitimate authority for a holy war is not the government of a state but the Church, or the relevant organisation or person who heads the religious institution concerned.
Christianity:
The basic assumption of modern Christians is that war is rarely justified and should be avoided unless the Just War conditions are met.

In brief, war is permitted:1) in self defence, 2) When other nations have attacked an Islamic state and 3) If another state is oppressing its own Muslims
War should be conducted:
1) in a disciplined way
2) so as to avoid injuring non-combatants
3) with the minimum necessary force
4) without anger
5) with humane treatment towards prisoners of war
In brief, war is permitted:
- in self defence
- when other nations have attacked an Islamic state
- if another state is oppressing its own Muslims
