- - - - This is very flexible and are more like a conversation instead of a list of questions to answer the researcher is more likely to just have general ideas or topics to discuss.
    - - This is where some questions which have been prepared as well as the opportunity to discuss issues that arise during the interviews
    - - This is where a questionnaire is read to participants, and the interviewer writes down the responses. They only ask the questions that have been prepared.

    - - A longitudinal study is is research that takes place over a long period of time with a group of people.
      - How long can it last for?
        
        Some of these studies can last ten, twenty, thirty or forty years.
      - What is the aim?
        
        The aim of this type of research is to follow what happens to people/families year after year of after several years. These studies can show what the effects if clsss, education upbringing etc have on the lives of people being studied.
