part I
Theres a wedding and an old man stops a guest to tell the story of a cursed ship
old mariner has some magic power in his eye and forces the man to listen
ship sails from england to atlantic, becomes stranded in ice and fog until albatross shows up then ice splits and ship sails through to the pacific ocean
bird is playful and friendly to the mariners, and seems to be a good omen, mariner shoots the bird with his crossbow
part II
ship returning north after sailing through antarctic. now in south pacific
sailor instantly blame mariner for killing bird that brought the breeze but then praise him for killing the bird that brought them to the land of snow and mist
ship is stuck in the doldrums near the equator and there are slimy sea creature and horrible heat and thirst
St. Elmo's fire and bioluminescence of algae provoke feelings of superstition in the sailors and they dream that an evil spirit has followed them from the land of mist and snow
Sailors blame fate on the mariner and hang dead albatross around his neck as sign of guilt
part III
everyone gets excited. thinks ship is going to save them. realize ship is not of this earth.
3.death and lady luck are the only two on the ship, and are playing a dice game for the sailors souls.
everyones dying of thirst. sees strange shape, recognizes it as a ship.
4.lady luck wins. sailors curse mariner, and drop dead.

part IV
Mariner didn't die. he is lonely, and watches slimy sea creatures.
2.Cannot pray due to guilt and arrogance. nature is tormenting him. some magic is keeping the bodies from rotting

part V
dead rise and begin working ship. dead don't speak to living. dead go back to being dead when daylight comes. spirits fly around the boat
Wedding guest gets freaked out by talk of zombie sailors, mariner reassures him. Nature is being sweet again. ship moves with the help of the spirit from land of ice and snow.
he sleeps and wakes up to rain and wind started, and clouds are moving. mariner feels relief.
ship stops at noon, then suddenly moves again. mariner falls and faints.
faints. hears two voices. angels asking if its the man that shot the bird that was loved by the land of mist and snow
part VI
Angels are talking. First angel has no idea whats going on. Ocean is calm. Angels questioning how the ship is moving. Mariner is almost home.
Mariner wakes up to dead men looking at him with glittering eyes. Still feels left over guilt. Couldn't stop looking at the dead men. Spell broken, able to look away. Haunted and fearful.
Mood changes as he sees his home. feels welcoming. mariner feels good about moving forward. moonlights everything he sees. angels come out of the shadows of the moon.
angel for every corpse. angels say bye. mariner happy to see pilot. hermit comes with pilot.
pilot helps ship into harbor.
