Structure-is the way in which the events of the plot unfold and the reader learns about characters situations

Pacing-The speed or rhythm of the writing, influences how the reader experience a story.
Slow Pacing-Can create tension or suspense by delaying an anticipated event
Fast Pacing-Creates a sense od energy and excitement
Setting-Time and Place in which a story takes place
Time-includes the hour of day, the season, and the historical era, including the practices and beliefs common to the period
Place-includes the general location, such as a specific country, city, or village. It may also include a specific place.

Static Characters-Do not change during the story
Dynamic Characters-Change as a result of the experiences they undergo in the story
Round, or complex, Characters-have many traits, including both faults and virtues
Direct Characterization-The narrator, Character or Voice telling the story-Directly states a characters traits
Flat, or Stock, Characters-Have just one or two traits
Indirect Characterization-The Narrator reveals a character's personality by describing a character's appearance, feelings, behavior, and thoughts, as well as his or her interactions with other characters
Antagonist-Opposes the Main Character, Creates Conflict

External Conflict-Takes place between a character and an outside force, such as another character, society, or Nature
Internal Conflict-A struggle a character experiences between his or her own feelings, desires, or beliefs
