LUMBAR
LIGAMENTS
COLUMN
-
- Posterior longitudinal: resists seperation of posterior ends of vertebral body
- Articular capsules of apophyseal joints: allows movement in sagittal plane
4. Ligamentum flava: aids adjoining laminae. Divides in medial (pass opp) & lateral (pass apophyseal). Returns to normal position from flexion
- Interespinous: connects SP´s
- Supraespinous: fibrous cord at top of SP
7. Intertransverse: connects TP´s.The dorsal leaf attaches to the lateral margin of the lamina and blends with the capsule of the subjacent apophyseal joint.
The ventral leaf passes anteriorly round the vertebral body to blend with the lateral margins of the anterior longitudinal ligament. This part of the ligament
forms a connective tissue sheet that closes the outer end of the intervertebral foramen
8. Transforamina: bords of fibres that cross outside end of vertebral foramen. 5x :
- superior corporotransverse
- inferior corporotransverse
- superior transforaminal
- inferior transforaminal
- mid-transforaminal
ILIOLUMBAR
-
Anterior iliolumbar: pass pl, fibres+to ilium. Attachment for quadratus lumborum
