Chapter 1

Both the men are going to a ranch that they can make $50 a month at

They lost their last job because Lennie likes to pet things (on the harder side) and he always pet the lady with the red dress's dress

Lennie wants to keep a dead mouse but George smacks it away

Get in argument, George tells Lennie his favorite story to make up for it and also warns Lennie to go to the designated spot if there is any trouble.

Chapter 2

George and Lennie arrive at the new ranch. In the bunkhouse, they meet an old guy named Candy.

The boss shows up and questions George and Lennie about their work history. George does all the talking, which makes the boss suspicious.

George lies and says he and Lennie are cousins, and that they left their last job because it was done.

The boss's son Curly comes in and tries to start a fight with Lennie, but George steps in.

Lennie see's Curly';s wife and gains alot of intrest in here.

Chapter 3

Candy's dog died, he wished he would've shot him

Curly and Lennie get in a fight and Lennie unintentionally breaks Curly's hand

Chapter 4

Crooks tells Lennie that George is never coming back, this causes Lennie to get mad. When Lennie comes at him, Crooks retracts his statement and tells Lennie he is kidding.

Lennie, Candy, and Crooks all do some "male-bonding". Crooks tells Lennie that every guy needs a guy to talk to.

Curley's wife shows up and said she needs someone to talk to, even if they are a "nigger an' a dum-dum and a lousy ol' sheep." Crooks tells her to go and threatens to have him lynched.

When George gets back, Candy tells him that he told Crooks about the farm and that Crooks wanted in, but when George got mad he said he was kidding and went on his way.

Chapter 5

Lennie pets the puppy to hard and kills it and hides it. Curley's wife walks in and tells Lennie its okay because the dog was a mutt.

Curley's wife lets Lennie pet her hair, but he ends up snapping her neck and killing her. So he hid her body under the hay and ran towards the safe spot. Candy found the body and went and told George.

George advises a plan in hopes that Curley wont assume that Lennie did it, but Curley thinks its him anyway and goes on a manhunt to find and kill Lennie.

George admits he never really believed in the dream about getting the farm, he merely faked it to keep Lennie happy.

As Curley and Carlson go out on their manhunt, George "tags along" in order to keep people from believing that he had anything to do with it.

Chapter 6

Lennie sits at the water waiting for George

Aunt Clara appears and tells him how George is so good to him and how George would be better off without him. Then after Aunt Clara goes away a large rabbit appears and tells Lennie how George hates him and how George is gonna beat him senseless.

As Lennie cries out to George, George comes out of the bushes and approaches Lennie. Lennie asks George to give him hell and instead George tells him the farm story. While he tells the story he pulls out the gun and shoots Lennie in the back of the head.

When George gets back, he tells the men and they understand why he did it. Slim then asks him if he wants to go out for a drink and they make their way to get one.
