The French Revolution is a period in the History of France in the years 1789-1799, in which the monarchy was overthrown and radical restricting was forced upon the Roman Catholic Church.
The First Estate is clergy
The Second Estate is nobility
The Third Estate is commoners
They were angry because the peasants had to pay taxes and the rich people didn't, also people were not happy because they were poor and starving and King Louis would not try to help them in any way, and they were receiving low wages.

The Enlightenment was the spread of intellectual, philosophical, cultural, and social movement that spread through England, France, Germany, and other parts of Europe during the 1700s.
Americans such as Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were just as much a part of the Enlightenment as Locke and Adams. Without the Enlightenment the Revolution is simply another war for colonial independence.
John Locke is one of the philosophers of the modern period. In the Two Treatises of Government, he defended the claim that men are by nature free and equal against claims that God had made all people naturally subject to a monarch.
