Claymond's Dream: Design Ideas
Narrative

In the midst of the investigation there have been more victims to the killer who Chuck (the player) has given the nickname 'RED'. He has gathered enough information to notice patterns in the victim's deaths as well as created a list of possible victims, though it seems too large to truly feel like he's closing in on the killer. The pressure of the government is building as with every death that happens the world is one step closer to realising what's been happening. The cat and mouse game has truly begun as with every kill Chuck also gets closer to RED, even missing him by a matter of seconds in one instance, the battle with time is really kicking in and it is now a race between Chuck and RED.
End
Finally, Chuck has caught up with RED on a rooftop. However, there is no victim in sight this time. RED proceeds to ask the player to remove their earpiece, if the player denies then RED will use an EMP to disable it anyway. RED starts talking to Chuck and actually decides to explain his cause. He says that he is actually fighting for a real world. After explaining his reasoning Chuck (the player) must choose between either arresting RED and returning the world to it's previous state. Or they can agree with RED. If they do then the foundations of the Utopian world will crumble but it will actually be something real from now on instead of a lie created by a government.
The game starts with the player learning about the world's history and how everyone has been raised to not understand hurting each other. The player takes control of Chuck Evans who wakes up to a phone ringing. It is the government telling you that a murder has happened and that you're being called in as the only person who can solve the case before the people of the world start realising that evil is possible. They brief you on the fact that you can't rely on government resources like a badge as people will wonder what's happened if the government are acting suspiciously. They take you to the crime scene and ask you to start your investigation, with one last warning they say that you mustn't be too obvious in your work as if you're too suspicious then civilians will realise and the Utopian world will be broken.

Lock the masked killer inside and talk until he attacks you and escapes
Missing the killer
In or outside of the building
You go into the alley to see the body, and catch a glimpse of what seems to be the killer running into a wooded area. You manage to keep sight of his footsteps in the mud.
Go upstairs and burst into the victims's room. He isn't there but you peer over the balcony and see bloody footprints in the wooded area across the street.
Multiple Deaths at the same time
You go to location A which is in a crowded city building. You get delayed by the crowd and get to the room in time to find the victim bleeding out. He manages to say the words "Tom Scott". Who appears to be the next victim on your list.
After arriving at location B you find out the death is natural, you then rush to A location and manage to arrive in time to get into the ambulance where the victim writes in blood "T.S". Using your detective work you figure out that Tom Scott will be the next victim.

Game Over: You were too suspicious in your investigation, people realised that murders have happened.
Choosing Sides
After listening to RED's speech you make the choice to join him in his crusade, you have decided and agreed that a world where people are ignorant to evil is one where they are ignorant to a part of themselves. It is better to live a harsh truth.
You disagree with what RED is saying, he is the only outlier in a perfect world. You arrest him and let the world return to it's peaceful state. A beautiful lie.

Chuck Evans
Role
The Main Character. Chuck plays the role of the detective tasked with solving who the culprit is before word gets out that a murderer exists.

Chuck starts quite grizzled and roughened by his past. He has a strong sense of what is wrong and right. He has a sarcastic personality and likes to make jokes to himself. However his personality can change depending on the player's choices.

Motivation
Chuck's motivation for solving the case is because he has to. He was raised for this task and understands the gravity of the situation.
Extra Notes:
Chuck was raised in isolation from the rest of the world, he was taught about violence and evilness in people's hearts as well as trained to be a world class detective. He has a slight alcoholic problem and is addicted to cigarettes.
RED
Role
RED is the serial killer that the mystery revolves around. He can either end up becoming a creator of a new world or Chuck can arrest him.

Personality
RED is serious about his goal but likes to joke around in real life. He smiles a lot and is a friendly person.Though his actions don't represent it he is kind deep inside. He is extremely fanatical in his way of speaking.

Motivation
RED was raised in a family that secretly knew about evil. He grew up believing that having dark emotions is one of the things that makes humans. He hates that the people around him are deprived of such building blocks of being human. He wants to corrupt the perfect world and instead finally experience a place less happy, but more real.
Extra Notes:
RED 's real name is unknown, he is named 'RED' by Chuck early into the game. It is a reference to 'redrum' from 'The Shining', one of the books Chuck was brought up on as well as a joke about the victims' blood. RED's knowledge of evil goes back through his family all the way to when the Utopian world was first created. The conditioning didn't work on a member of RED's family who passed it onto his son to keep the secret going, after passing through several generations RED's father raised him to understand what evil is.
Lucy Wright
Role
One of Chuck's advisers in his case. Lucy gives Chuck information on recent deaths and their locations through his earpiece as well as answers questions he has.

Personality
She has a dry sense of humour and will often put Chuck's jokes down and engage in banter with him. She is serious about her work but remains cheerful despite the circumstances. She pity's the victims and is very empathetic.

Motivation
Lucy is sworn to the government and is one of their agents, she is willing to do their work no questions asked. She believes that the murders are sick and that the killer must be stopped at all costs.
Extra Notes:
Lucy and a select few other agents including her coworker Paul were put into an intensive course on evil and how devastating it is on the world when they first joined the agency. They were sworn to complete secrecy and are monitored so that they never reveal the concept of evil to someone not in the agency.
Paul Thompson
Role
One of Chuck's advisers on his case. He helps Chuck through his earpiece and can use government resources to open doors remotely for Chuck if he needs to sneak somewhere forbidden.

Paul is a serious man who doesn't enjoy joking around. He is dedicated to his job and want's to solve the mystery as soon as possible. He isn't friendly towards Chuck and finds him an annoying character. He is sometimes sarcastic and backhanded.

Motivation
Paul joined the agency in order to be closer to Lucy, he found purpose in his work and enjoys spending time with Lucy even though he tries not to show it. After learning about evil he decided it should never get out, he wants to protect the world that he works in.
Extra Notes:
Paul has been in love with Lucy for a long time, he dislikes how well she gets on with Chuck. Paul is part of the same division that Lucy is in and they went through the same agency training together. They work together in order to give Chuck the information and help that he needs. He is fond of sunglasses.
John Claymond
Role
Claymond is the presidential character of the game's world. He is the head of everything and owns the government. He created the agency which raised you and overlooks everything.

Personality
Claymond is slightly egotistic. From the way he was raised he has the idea that his ideals are the most important in the world. However, he is a kindhearted man who truly believes he has a solution which is the best for the people.

Motivation
Claymond is the descendant of the original man who created the Utopian world. He was brought up to have the morals and ideals of a perfect world. He does everything to maintain a world without evil. His perfect world.
Extra Notes:
Claymond is extreme in his ideals that there should be no evil in the world, however understands that people like Chuck and the agency are necessary. He is referred to by Mr. Claymond, never his first name.
Dr. Steelford
Role
Dr. Steelford is the man who raised Chuck in isolation from the world, he lived with him and taught him everything he knows. He taught Chuck about evilness and violence as well as why it's wrong and even his detective skills, he also raised him like a father and took care of him.

Dr. Steelford is a very loving and warm person. He is a father figure and responsible role model. He likes to joke around with Chuck and thinks of him as a son.

Dr. Steelford originally took the job for Chuck for a need of money, he didn't want to raise anyone but after seeing Chuck as a baby he found him to be cute and wanted to look after him. His motivations then turned fatherly and he raised Chuck as a son as well as a protective measure for the world.
Extra Notes:
Though Dr. Steelford and Chuck had a nice relationship, he noticed the negative effect that being exposed to so much evil and living in isolation had on Chuck. He managed to make Chuck's life as nice as possible and Chuck thinks fondly of their memories but still is quite toughened from his past regardless. Dr. Steelford will always be seen wearing a brown suit.
