Kiosk analysis. Design ideas.

Form

The majority of the kiosk will mainly follow a red and white color scheme, representing the colors of the Bahrain flag.

The kiosk will have a image of the Bahrain International Circuit, as well as an image of the Formula 1 logo.

It would follow a Bahrain theme as well as a racing theme to represent the F1.

Function

The kiosk would be for a single person to use, two users will not be able to use the kiosk at the same time.

The kiosk will be able to provide information for people to find out about the event and what is happening where by the track.

Some kiosks will be placed outside the racing track, so that people are able to buy a ticket at the event, and would have a ticket dispenser and a slot for payment by either credit card or physical money.

User Requirements

The kiosk should be able to be suitable for children above the age of 10 years old, therefore, it should be relatively short for them to see the screen properly. It will have a height adjuster to it for different ages, so the minimum height should be around 120cm.

The touch screen should be responsive and should be able to work in very warm conditions. It would also be responsive to relatively moist fingers as it would need to as people do sweat.

The screen would be relatively big so that it easy to ready and see everything that is on screen, and would be shaded so that light does not reflect off of the screen so that user would be able to see the screen clearly.

Performance Requirements

The kiosks should be able to last for three days, as that is the duration of the event.

The kiosk would be run off of solar paneled energy. However if it happens to be rainy or in the event of sun not being present there would be a pre-charged battery pack inside of the kiosk so that it will still work in various weather conditions.

The kiosk would have 3G in the system and will be able to connect to the wifi at the event. If the internet is slow at the racing track then 3G could be a potential faster option to access the internet. Also, bluetooth would also be within the system.

Size

The size of the product will be around 130cm with an adjustable height for various reasons.

Designed so that the screen will be underneath the eye level with a protective shade above head level.

The size of the buttons will be of a normal size potentially a little bit bigger than normal.
