- - - - Occurs in the granulsoa and theca cells of the ovaries. The granulsoa cells produce pregnenolone, biosynthesis of most steroid hormones, which then diffuses out and beside the theca cells. Theca cells help facilitate the conversion of pregnenolone to androstenedione, increase levels of serum estrone and testoterone. The andestendione returns to gransuloa cells and is converted into entrone by the aromatase, enzyme that converts andestrendione into estrone into estrogen.
    - - Armoatase facilitates estrone in on-gondal sites such as in fat cells and in the bones. Fat cells increase estrogens by converting androgen into estrone. Bones convert testosterone to local estrogen to help mature the end part of the bones.
