We get to know many things about the main character and the conditions and system he lives in
He is proud of it and wants to show it to the scholars and to other people

The main character is different from everybody. if he spoke his mind people would see him as evil.
He became a street sweeper.
He has a flashback to his childhood.
He was 10 and got to carry the torch to burn a sinner. He felt proud.
Equality has a crush on Liberty and they get in contact with each other
He knows more than the Scholars even though he is not supposed to
he finds out that the light bulbs in the tunnel have something to do with the wire
He thinks that he has discovered a new power he cut open a dead frog a long time ago and saw its leg jerking even though it was dead. Then he noticed the frog had received this power from the copper wire on which it had been hanging.
They are really nice to each other but they know that they are not supposed to be talking
You can tell that this is not a regular friendship
After some time Equality meets Liberty again
He wants to guard the tunnel until the meeting of the scholars. he also wonders how he looks like
Equality managed to create an electric light
He was put in a cell and judges come by regularly to ask if he changed his mind
One day before the meeting of the scholars Equality decides to break out which is not really hard because the locks are old and there are no guards
We get to know that equality got caught. He was whipped when he refused to say where he was.
He then fled to the forbidden forest
He realizes that he left back the golden one
He was chased out of the meeting because he should not know more than everybody else.
When he is hungry he kills a bird by throwing a rock at it
Equality sees his face for the first time in his life in a stream
He really enjoys his new freedom.
Chapter 10
Chapter 9
That night they have sex
They have grown to love the lifestyle. In addition to that Equality learned that the city was wrong in many aspects
We get to know that the olden one followed equality into the forest. When she meets him he kisses her
They feel like they are missing something but they do not know what it is (personal pronouns)
Chapter 12
Chapter 11
They begin to live in the house. Equality goes to get food and wood. Liberty looks at herself in the mirror all that time.
They find an old house from the unmentionable times
Liberty falls asleep on the floor and when Equality comes home he carries her to the bed
He says that he is done with "We" and that "We" is the root of all evil because the weak steal from the strong
He basically finds individualism for him in this chapter. He thinks that his own happiness is the most important thing in life.
He has found out the first person singular

Equality discovers the word I in one of the old books. He cried when he finally understood it because it was so beautiful
