KA KITE BRO
CHARACTERS
TAMA
He is depressed that his friend passed away
He is angry because the teachers are disrespecting his culture.
He is confused because Darryl's family tikanga is a different whanaunga tanga than to what he is used to.
He gets a bit angry at his friends.
The author described him as a boy that is lost within the people around him
I have decided that this character is someone that has a lot of questions and quiries about his friends spirit and family
DARRYL
He has passed away
He was a close friend (byb the looks of it) to Tama
His tikanga/whanaunga tanga is pakeha/white.
He was an athlete...?
MR WATSON
He is a strict teacher
He is a pakeha/white teacher/person
Works at Tama's school
His relationship with the kids (from the looks of it) is just basically him just being the person that growls you at you every second.
His relationship with his teachers don't change because they still disrespect him and his culture.
Further on in the story I think that Tama's feelings don't really change. He just gets more and more confused.
MYSTERIOUS??
The way that I would conclude this story is to make Tama find out where pakeha spirits leap off and maybe that will make him find closure within himself
AUTHORS MESSAGE
I think that Willie's message is that not all cultures have the same traditions and that people will have their own customs, and you have to deal with them
