How it all works
The girls from the past come to the future. They kidnap one of their stated foes from teenage years, who is now an adult. They take the foe, as an adult, back in time. And execute them.
The detective learns what the girls are doing. He has a crisis of conscience; he wants them to take out the journalist, who caused him so much pain long ago.
Rather than doing the right thing, the detective forges a contract with them to take out the younger journalist, before he could grow up and hurt the detective
