Role of God & Humans in Determining Halacha: On Mt. Sinai, God promised to give Moses all of the teachings and commandments he had to offer. While these commandments were accepted from God during this time period, the Torah has continued to develop further as time has passed with the help of interpretations of Rabbis. In order to find additional meaning in the verse, the darshan uses the economy of language to describe the meanings of the Tablets (ten commandments), Torah (Chumash), Commandment (Mishnah), and “that I wrote” (Prophets & Writings). These terms utilized in the text piece together the concept of how Halacha was initiated and how it was communicated to humans.
