A reform movement for the societies good and took action againt wrongful doings and bad habits
States and governments came to support the temperance movements, but irish and germans strongly opposed, however they didnt have enough say in government to out role the laws and taxes on alchohol, but soon the laws turned to Prohibition of any liquor as maine was the first state
Reform movements pushed to create better conditions for nthe people in asylums and to create seperate institutuions for them.
The movements started with the want to stop the bad habit of great alcohol consumption and movements were started by protestant ministers to create total abstinence
Mental hospitals were created to keep society safe and calm and to improve the mental health of the sick.
These reforms went from sermons and phamplets to taking political action
Prisonms were also brought about for criminals and secured society and made it safer.

The movement was made to move african americans held as slavesto settles ments to keep them from slavery, appeald to antislvaery beacuse of rascist.
Former slaves and captives were the most convincing of the slavery because of experience and pushed to stop it.
Uprising and revolt were encouraged by two northern africans for slaved slaves to escape and killed many whites and uprisings

education allows for kids to learn for free and allows kids with not as much money still participate in education
kids and people with a higher education capacity were allowed to participate in higher more advanced education and become successful in the future
moral education went beyond normal school and taught kids moral and will and how to work and manners
People in jacksonian era wanted a better education for their kids and education
Womens rights through abolitionist movements began to hae a voice, andwhen men put their roles and positions in the seconday position they began to reform.
Women began campaigning and writing letters to influence further roles in society, and rights.
They also became more of a rol in the household as their husbands were out at jobs they shaped home lives while still playing domestic roles in the house.

As industrialization increased mens rols of the leader of morals in the house began to change as they were working in factories or in offices the idea that women wee moral leaders of the house began to arise.

seneca falls convention
First womens rights convention in history, and issued a decleration of sentiments that declared all women and men are created equal.
The convention led to further discussion and campaigns of equal rights such as voting, and property however the proposition was over taken by the problem of slavery.
Religion/ Utopian society
calivinism or puritan teachings of sin began to be rejected by more liberal bodies, and forgiving doctrines
The 2nd great awkening appealed more to ones emotions and the ministers would travel around speaking about the saving of ones faith, and dramatize their teachings
Religion and human beliefs began to arise due to the reaction against rationalism
Caused new divisions and spereations of teachings causing new branches of the church such as a common on known as mormon, and methodist, and baptist.
2nd great awakening was began by more educated people, and motivated young men to beome evangelical preachers.
After the 2nd great awkening, radical religious groups formed utopian societies in which all aspects of peoples lives could be governed by their faith.
