There was now land above the water between Asia and North America.The land that connected Asia to North America was like a bridge.Find this land bridge on the map below.plants began to grow on the land bridge form Asia to America .Next small groups of hunters crossed the land bridge .the hunters were following the animals .finally,after thousands of years ,some groups reached as far south as the southern tip of South America.For hundreds of years,hunters continued to cross the land bridge.they were the ancestors of the American Indians of today. The Northwest Coast Region
American Indians live in Northwest Coast Región got so much food from the sea and land that they did not need to farm. They also collect nuts, berries and other plants for food. It has thick forest. This Región has a mild climate.
Plains Regions: Some American Indians who lilves in the plains regions where both farmers and hunters. The región is flat and grassy. They plant corn, squash and beans, They built houses called earth lodges.
Southwest Región: Many American Indians here belonged to the group known as the Pueblo. It has the driest climate of the country. Much of the region is desert and dry grassland. The Pueblo grew corn, beans, pumpkins and squash.
California Intermountain Region: Much of the land of the region is part of a basin or low place in the land. The land also has many plateaus or high flat areas. This area is drier. In dry years the American Indians where often hungry.
