You can use a teflon coated non-stick/ cermaic coated non stcik/Stainless steel/cast iron pan for this recipe. Non-stick pans can be really dangerous to your health when they get scratched and the coating is mixed with your food. always use a wooden spoon or a plastic spatula with soft edges with non stick pan. stainless steel is one of the safest and cheapest option you'll have though the cooking get diffcult for a few dishes. Cast iron pan is a one time investment pan where it's completely safe to use and you can pass it on for generations to use. steel and cast iron pans are completely metal spoon friendly. don't believe in the non stick pans that are metal spoon friendly.
measuring tools
measuring cups. always buy the one which has 1/3rd and 2/3 rd cup measurements. Many recipes call for them links
Measuring spoons. always buy the one which has 1/8th Teaspoon in it.

vessel/ sauce pan for cooking pasta. and strainer or a colander to take the pasta out and bowl to place the cooked pasta. If you're looking forward to make more pasta at home, buy a pasta pot instead of using pans, strainer and bowls. a pasta pot is way more convient and you can cook pasta much safer even for a group for 10 people at once.

Parmesan cheese. parmesan is considered to be best! But in india, it's very difficult to find a parmesan cheese block unless you live in one of the biggest cities. And the parmesan we get here isn't as good as the original Parmigiano Reggiano, we found something that closest you can buy online.
Mozarella/Cheddar/Processed cheese. you can throw in a slice or two, or a handful if you're using grated cheese. do it after you add the cream and don't over mix it if you want to experience creamy and cheese feel of the pasta simultaneously.
Mustard. To give heat-note to the recipe you can add 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard powder or 1/4 Dijon Mustard paste.
you can even add more if you need. add mustard anytime after you add milk.
