Looking inside of cells
Enter the cell
Cell membrane
Is located behind the cell wall
It allows food and oxygen to enter the membrane it dictates what goes in and out of the cell
Cell wall
The wall is made of a material called cellulose
Shelters and supports the cell
Rough nonliving wall that covers plants and other organisms
Sail on to the nucleus
Chromatin
Instructs the cell on what to do.
Nucleolus
In the nucleolus ribosomes are made. Witch are organelles that make protein
Nuclear Envelope
Protects the nucleuos
Passes through the nucleus and into the envelope
Organelles in the cytoplasm
Chloroplasts
Take the energy in sunlight and changes it into produce food for the cell
Ribosomes
Produce proteins
A few new proteins are let out of the wall of the endoplasmic and brought into the Golgi bodies
Vacuoles
Are a storage area of cells
They can hold food, waste and other materials
Endoplasmic reticulum
Is a maze of passage ways
The passage ways carry proteins and other necessary material to another part of the cell
Lysosomes
Contain chemicals that break down specific materials in the cell
Mitochondria
They change energy in food molecules to energy a cell can use to function on its own
Called the powerhouse
The region between the cell membrane and the nucleus
Golgi bodies
Take in new proteins and materials from the endoplasmic reticulum and releases them to other parts of a cell
