My teachers users needs a fast identification system for their student's presence state.
Using a RFID Card
There are already solutions for check in/out people.
It's fast and simple to use.
Users must carries on an identification card, if they lose it or damage it, they can't be recognized.
The technology relies in electromagnetic fields in the card to store information that can be easily hacked (read/write) with cheap hardware equipment.
Using a fingerprint reader
There are already solutions for check in/out people.
It's relies on an expensive hardware (readers) that require replacement when damaged.
It's accurate and simple to use.
For large groups of people and depending of the technology, it can be slow to recognize a person.
Using piece of paper and a pen
Relies in a list of student in a paper that can be damage by the time/use and a pen whose ink it's limited.
Require that every student collaborate with the teacher to inform him/her the presence state of a student.
It's the cheapest method, but not the faster.
The list may not be printed on time for every classroom and teacher.
Using Face Recognition and Machine Learning
It's the faster and more precise method to identify a person.
Relies in non-touch hardware so the lifespan is the longer.
Can use the existing security cameras.
No require state of the art or expensive hardware to work.
