Informational Text Rubrics
Reading Goal:
Student will know, understand, and be able to analyze how an author develops and refines their ideas in an informational text.
Level 0:
Teacher offers assistance
No success
Level 2:
Teachers needs not offer assistance
Student has;
Recognized specific vocabulary relating to the topic (Ex: Main Iddea, Plot, Etc.)
Performed basic processes relating to the topic (Ex: Identify the basis element of a level-appropriate Informational Text)
Level 3.5:
Student has;
Reached and gone beyond the goal
Shown originality and creativity in their work
Command of language and literacy skills
Level 1:
Teacher offers assistance
Shown elements of score 3.0 and 2.0
Performed basic skills and activities
Student has;
Shown a lack of language fluency
Level 3:
Teacher need not offer assistance
Student has;
Understood topic and related topics (Ex: Expository texts, Information, etc.)
Identified and understood the structure of informational texts
Been able to analyze the development of ideas in the text (of the implicit and explicit)
Has demonstrating understanding by the quality of questions they ask and answer
Level 4:

Exceeded expectations at meeting goal
Modeled best application of goal
Demonstrated original, creative, and near-native use of language
