3 treatments: 1 placebo, 1 type 1 of diet, 1 type 2 of diet. 300, 001 to 300 (excluding 301-999, 000). Assign each of the 300 people a number, then randomly divide them into groups. The first 100 people selected through a SRS will be assigned to group 1 (the placebo group), the second 100 people will be assigned to group 2 (type 1 of the diet pill) and the third 100 people will be assigned to group 3 (type 2 of the diet pill). This will be a double-blind survey, since the surveyor checking metabolism and weight will not know what treatment each patient received., and the patients as well will not know if they received type 1, type 2, or the placebo. After one month of treatment, weights will be taken and differences in weight (initial-final) will be taken for each treatment group and average weight loss will be calculated so that effectiveness of the pills can be compared. The experiment will be blocked by weight (under 200 pounds and over 200 pounds). The factors are Type 1 Diet Pill, Type 2 Diet Pill, and Placebo Pill. The randomization comes from our SRS when people are randomly assigned to a treatment. The factor is the type of pill consumed.
